Welcome back, and don’t forget to LIKE, SUBSCRIBE and COMMENT on the podcast.  This is the week of Christmas for many.  The kids have a couple of finals to study for.  So, they asked me to take the reigns. I decided to do things a bit different, and hope you enjoy it.  This is “A Visit from St. Nick” dad style.

‘Twas the night before Christmas, and almost asleep

Very little was moving, not even a peep

The presents were purchased and under the tree

From a credit card dad had, that was all interest-free

Thinking of all the points he received and put together

He could lay down his head, as light as a feather

The discount stockings were hung by the fire with care

They were 10 years old and looked a bit bare

He thought of the gifts, each one by one

He was well under budget, and all the work done

Mom looked festive in flannel red and green

The white on her face was some kind of cream

Dad knew both were bought at Kohl’s for a song

That made him smile, then stretch and give a big yawn

The Kohl’s cash he’d use later would be for himself

And, tonight there’d be no more Elf on a Shelf

The thermostat was set at a cool thirty-three

Because everyone knew he loved saving money

Mak & G were tucked in tight like bugs in their beds

With the hope of big dividends dancing in their heads

The lights were all off because that is a waste

No one could see them, and that’s just bad taste

As everyone shook a bit from the cold

Dad knew that to save money, you had to be bold

For how could we save all those big stacks of green

Unless you focus each day on what all it means

Independence and freedom from unwanted bills

And dropping the feeling you’re marching uphill

Then, all of the sudden, with such a crash

Dad thought there an accident that’d cost him some cash

To the contrary, there was a perfect sled landing, in the front yard

All eight reindeer pulling a large man and breathing hard

Dad tried to remember their names, but it wasn’t that easy

Was the expired egg nog he bought making him feel queasy

Then the round man in a suit of red shouted

Now Dasher! Now Dancer, now Prancer and Vixen

On, Comet! on, Cupid! on, Donner and Blitzen!

And with a quick flash, we must have all felt some tingles

As the sled landed hard on the roof and broke a few shingles

Does this man have insurance, so that he could pay

Or would he just leave it dad who was in such dismay

The Google cameras were on and pointed toward the tree

Then out pops St. Nick, from the fireplace with such glee

Dad watched in wonder, as he dropped prezzies for Mak & G

It made him smile to think all those presents were free

St. Nick with his white beard, pipe, and his belly

Made dad think he had eaten one too many donuts with jelly

Then, with a special twinkle, he touched his finger to his nose

He started to move and up the chimney, he rose

He was off to his next house to spread more joy

While emptying his bag of boxes with toys

And the last thing he heard as the sled took off from roof height

“Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night!”
